Why KeyPDF

Real text editing

You're rewriting the document's actual text, not sticking a text box on top of it.

Your fonts stay

Embedded fonts get reused, subsets included. Type a character the font doesn't have? It falls back cleanly.

Images and pages too

Move, replace or delete images. Reorder pages. Undo and redo as much as you want.

100% in your browser

Parsing, editing, saving: all of it happens on your device. Nothing gets sent to a server.

Free, no watermark

No signup. No locked features. No page limits. No stamp on your output.

Works offline

Once the page has loaded, you can pull the plug and keep working.

Frequently asked questions

Can I really change the existing text, not just add new text on top?

Yes. KeyPDF parses the PDF's content streams and lets you edit paragraphs in place, original fonts and layout preserved. Most free online editors can't do this. They only let you paste new text over the page. KeyPDF rewrites what's already there.

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. The whole editor runs in your browser. Your file gets opened, edited and saved on your own device, so nothing you work on goes anywhere.

Does editing add a watermark or require an account?

No. It's free, with no signup, no watermark and no file limits.

What if my PDF is a scanned document?

KeyPDF spots scanned pages and runs OCR in the browser, so the recognized text becomes editable. Check the OCR PDF tool for details.
